What are the Types of Russia Visa
There are 6 types of Russia visas:- Business visa
- Transit visa
- Tourist visa
- Personal (private) visa
- Student visa
- Short 72-hour visa
A visa is a special document attached to your passport, that grants
you a permit to enter and to leave the Russian Federation during a period
of time specified in the visa. Every foreign citizen needs a Russia visa
to enter or leave Russia, except nationals of some CIS countries.Generally, the best options in terms of price, processing speed and flexibility are tourist and business visas. It's better to get a tourist visa if you plan to stay in Russia no longer than one month, and need a single or a double entry. It's better to get a business visa if you plan to stay in Russia longer than 1 month and need a multiple-entry visa.
How to get a Russia Visa
You can get a Russia visa in a Russian Embassy or Consulate at the country you're currently in. To apply for a Russian visa, you need to submit to the consulate certain documents, depending on the type of visa you require. You can go to the embassy or send by post your documents. For example, to apply for a tourist visa, you need to submit:- 1 passport-size photo
- A visa application form
(available in our site)
- Your passport
- An invitation letter
(available in our site)
- An attestation of Sikness Insurance valid abroad
(for some countries only)
(available in our site)
To process your visa, the consulate will charge you a certain visa processing fee depending on the type of your visa and the speed of processing. Usually, a tourist visa costs from 60 € to 90 € and takes about 7 to 21 days to process.
What is a Russian Invitation Letter
The required documents that are listed above are easy to get and you should already have them available. The only document that you don't already have is the Russian invitation letter. The invitation (also called visa support or tourist confirmation and tourist voucher) is a special document issued by the party that invites you to Russia. The invitation is required by a Russian consulate to be able to process your visa. For every type of visa, there exists a different type of invitation (tourist, business, private, student). The invitation and vaucher we provide is A4 page that we will send to you by fax.
After you receive the invitation and vaucher, you can bring it to the ambassy along with
the other documents needed. See a comprehensive list of the documents needed
for every type of visa at How to get a Visa section.
Go to the consulate and apply for your Russian visa.A Russian tourist invitation is needed to get a tourist visa. The tourist invitation comprises two parts: the tourist confirmation and the tourist voucher. It costs 30 € and takes from 1 day to 2 days to be issued. A fax copy of the invitation is accepted to the consulate. When you receive this invitation, you can take it along with the other documents to the consulate and apply for your Russian visa.
A Russian business invitation is more expensive, because it requires some fees to be paid to the Russian Interior Ministry and takes longer to issue. A business visa allows a longer stay (up to 12 months) and multiple entries, which is not possible with a tourist visa. With a business visa, a foreigner can continiously stay in Russia for not longer than 6 months (you may leave for 1 day after 6 months and then come back, and it'll be ok).
The price of a business invitation to obtain a visa for a 3 months stay, single entry would cost 70 €. This invitation can be either sent to you by fax or e-mail (if the consulate accepts copies) or sent by telex directly to the consulate in case of 6 months and 1 year visas.
You can apply for a tourist or a business invitation online through our site. The invitation includes all the papers needed to apply for the visa: a tourist confirmation and a tourist voucher.
How long does it take to get a Russia Visa
First of all, you should get your invitation. It takes from 1 to 18 days depending of the invitation needed. Then, you can take the invitation to the Russian consulate along with other documents needed and a visa application form. The Russian consulate will charge a visa processing fee and issue your visa in 1 to 21 days depending on how much you pay. What is the Migration Card
All foreigners are obliged to fill in a migration card, which will be given to them the instant they cross the Russian border. Generaly, at the airport. It is required to put in the migration card:

You have 3 working days to register your imigration card. It can be done at the hotel you stay, in our office in Moscou or in St-Petersburg or in a Police station. in case you has not put a registration mark within 3 days, you will be considered illegal. How to Register your Russia Visa
Your visa must be registred within 72 hours upon your arrival to any Russian city excluding weekend and holidays. It can be registered at the hotel you stay, in our office in Moscou or in St-Petersburg or in a Police station.
The
registration is a small stamp in your passport or the migration card, showing
a place of your stay. If you don't register your visa within 72 hours, you
may be fined, detained for not longer than 3 hours by police if they stop
you on the street or fined by passport control when you leave Russia. Thus,
we strongly advise you to register your visa. There are several ways to register your visa.
- If you stay in a hotel, the hotel can register your visa for the whole period of your visa's validity (but not more than 3 months).
- If you stay in an appartment or B&B that you have renz with us, we will register your visa.
- If you stay by your own somewhere else (in an apartment, with your friends, camping etc.), the russia visa must be registered in a Police station or at he post office by the owner of the accomodation whre you are. If you buy an invitation with us, you can aslo register in our offices in Moscow (50 USD) and St-Petersburg (30 Euros). Contact us for more information.
- If you stay for more than 3 months in Russia, then the registration
should be made in a local UVIR office, a company that issued your invitation
can assist you in making such registration.
