Lake Baikal
Irkutsk, Listvyanka & hiking along the lake

Irkutsk was founded in 1661 when the Russian military cossack troops established a fortress on the right bank of Angara River . From late 17 th century, it was a political, economical and cultural center of Siberia . The city's Russian classical architecture dates from the period of the 1880s when the city boomed after gold was discovered in the area.

Both villages, Listvyanka and Bolshie Koty are located at the shore of Lake Baikal. This guided tour offers a good combination of sightseeing in famous Listvyanka and hiking to a quiet and peaceful remote area of B. Koty.

PROGRAM

ListvyankaIrkutsk Art Museum

Day 1
Arrival in Irkutsk about at 09:00 am, transfer to Listvyanka, on the way visit to Wooden Architecture Museum . Visit to Museum of Lake Baikal. Overnight at hotel/ homestay/chalet in Listvyanka.

Day 2
Hiking from Listvyanka to Bolshie Koty. Depending on weather conditions and skills of the travelers, the path along the shore, as a more complicated route, or a path through the taiga-forest and bushes, as an easier option, is taken. Typically, hiking is about 6-7 hours with a lunch break. Most of the tourist's luggage is kept in Listvyanka. A tourist needs to carry a rucksack with personal staff required only for this hiking. Overnight in a family in Boshie Koty.

Day 3
Walking in the vicinity of Bolshie Koty. Transfer from B.Koty to Listvyanka by hydrofoil Raketa. Overnight at hotel/ homestay in Listvyanka.

Day 4
Morning transfer to Irkutsk . Walking city tour, visit one museum. Overnight at hotel/ homestay in Irkutsk.

Day 5
Transfer to railway station/airport.
