Lake Baikal
Hiking or kayaking along lake Baikal

The route is 60 km long from village Bolshoe Goloustnoe to Listvyanka settlement, mainly along a shoreline of the Baikal. The road from Irkutsk to Bolshoe Goloustnoe takes about 3.5 hours by company’s van. The part of the route from B.Koty to Listvyanka (25 km) gets through a very rugged terrain and takes about 7-8 hours for an experienced hiker. On client’s wish a lift by hydrofoil can be taken from B. Koty to Listvyanka, where tourists go sightseeing with their guide.

During the trek, you are going to share outfit and food with the guide and carry the backpacks of about 12-14 kg .

PROGRAM

BaikalDay 1
Arrival in Irkutsk , transfer to hotel/homestay. 3 hours guided walking city tour of Irkutsk, one museum.

Day 2
Breakfast. In the morning transfer by private car to B.Goloustnoe, 135 km from Irkutsk. Hiking or sea kayaking tour starts from B.Goloustnoe and goes along the shore to Cape Kadilny, 20 km from B.Goloustnoe. Overnight in tents, food.

KayakingDay 3
Breakfast. Excursion to the cave wherein aboriginal people of the Iron Age once lived. Then hiking or sea kayaking along the shore to village Bolshie Koty (17 km). Gold used to be extracted from there about 40 years ago. Overnight tents/hostel, food.

Day 4
Breakfast. Hiking or sea kayaking or hydrofoil to settlement Listvyanka (25 km) situated on Lake Baikal shore at the outlet of the Angara river. Transfer to Irkutsk by public transport. Overnight in Irkutsk at hotel/homestay.

Day 5
Breakfast. Transfer to station/airport, departure from Irkutsk .
